News: World Clash 2007 - Game Over - last world clash

After serving up an entertaining treat to hardcore music lovers in New York, Irish and Chin Inc. have decided to retire that leg of their annual 'World Clash' event. Damion, a representative at Irish and Chin Inc. said, "The market up there is saturated right now and from a financial perspective, it just wasn't working out. We withstood it for 10 years."

In a recently issued release, the dancehall sound clash promoters said that this year's 10th annual World Clash - New York would indeed be the final installment of the event.

News: Machel Montano warned by police in Zen: No crotch grabbing

Machel MontanoIn what is appearing to be very comical, police attempted to halt a show at Zen Nightclub on Friday featuring Machel Montano, Benjai, Patrice Roberts and Zan. The police told Machel, "Stop allowing the women to touch your (testicles)." Frustrated Montano said, "If all yuh want to lock meh up, lock meh up."

The latest move by the Trinidad and Tobago Police has not only frustrated Machel Montano and his HD crew, but also patrons at Zen on Friday night. At first Zan, Patrice Roberts, Benjai and Kernel Roberts "burst into laughter", but the continual police presence eventually also frustrated them, with Kernel telling Machel that the police "want to lock you up."
The problems with the police began after Machel Montano came on stage at Zen, after performances by Benjai, Zan and Patrice Roberts which were well received. As soon as Montano came out on stage several of the women standing at the front of the audience began to reach out and grab at his crotch, which has become a norm over the past couple of years.
