The Fader magazine features an article about Machel Montano with the headline “Soca attacks the World!”.
The magazine is also available as free pdf.
“You may not have heard of him, or he might be your favorite star evar, and either way, you need to get with the rest of the world and tune in to Soca. The import, embrace and crosspollination of Caribbean music upstream to communities in Boston, Detroit, Chicago, LA and beyond is something we’ve been harping on for years now—Soca has made its way north and Montano is its Official Ambassador (he even has a Pepsi trading card to prove it!).” from The Fader #43

News: Bounty Killer Declines Clash Invitation
The Warlord, Bounty Killer, has declined Beenie Man's invitation for a clash at Sunday night's, Camp Fire event slated for Ewarton, St. Catherine.
"Him cyan throw any invitation again ... Beenie deliberately ran," Killer said in reference to his musical rival's failure to take up the offer to clash at Sting a few days ago.
"This Sting was the most anticipated for a clash and it went down like a Sunsplash. I'm not working on Camp Fire, I love Camp Fire but I'm not working on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, those days are for family. Sting is the show that gave him the title, the people wanted the clash...Beenie deliberately ran..." Bounty told THE STAR in an interview.
News: Shocking Vibes And Beenie Man Officially Over
In a response to recent pronouncements by DJ Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis that he is severing ties with his long-time management outfit, Shocking Vibes Productions, Patrick Roberts of Shocking Vibes has issued a statement standing behind his company's handling of the DJ's career.
In the statement, issued on Friday, Roberts said: "While we are no doubt proud of our association with the artiste, and his immeasurable talents, we think it important to state that our relationship was not without its challenges, many of which were in the public domain. As can be clearly discerned, Shocking Vibes has guided the artiste through these tempestuous arrangements and believes that its efforts were often unnecessarily diverted from its primary task of managing the career of this artiste."
