News: Krosfyah Rocking for Crop Over 2007

WITH their 2007 album, krosfyah are reminding Barbadians that they have been through the fire.

And now, as they reach age 17, the eight-member band that copped the coveted Band Of The Year title at this year's Barbados Music Awards is making the point with an album entitled Fireproof – filled with uptempo songs that are already heating up the airwaves for Crop-Over.

Lead singer and Entertainer Of The Year Edwin Yearwood said the album represented the trials they had faced to reach this point.

"There are trials and tribulations we have gone through that people don't even know about, but the people are enjoying our music, and that's what's important. We went through the fire, came out and have stood the test of time.

He noted that the main thing that kept the group focused was their love of soca music and people.

"We've always been there with the people and not above the people," he added, noting that the six tunes dropped on local stations recently were designed to appeal to people across varying
age groups.
