News: Shabba Ruled at Club Eclipse

New Jersey was blessed with a live performance by one of Jamaica’s living legend and entertainer extraordinaire, Shabba Ranks. The show was held at Club Eclipse in Newark on Saturday April 24 and it was not until after midnight patrons found themselves slowly filling the venue. The early-comers were kept entertained by the selector who played hits from the 80’s and early 90’s.

After 1 AM it was show time! The patrons were entertained by upcoming artiste, Zanadu and veteran singer, Johnny Osbourne who both thrilled the crowd with their smooth vocals. Junior Demus worked the crowd with some of his hits before Shabba ran onstage to a howling crowd who hailed him like the true Dancehall king he is.

Shabba Ranks performed hits after hits, and showed that he is still a favorite among the females. Ladies were screaming and gyrating to his songs and suggestive wining. Trailer Load, BowCat, Wicked in Bed, Jus Reality and of course Ting-a-Ling were a few of the seemingly endless stream of hits Shabba touched while onstage. There were endless forwards for the DJ through-out the night.
