News: Sizzla to leave Def Jam?

Sizzla Kalonji may be bidding Island Def Jam Music Group adieu because he is not pleased with the promotion and marketing push of his latest album.

Sizzla Kalonji may be leaving the Island Def Jam Music Group because he is not pleased with the promotion and marketing push of the album he has been working on for the past few months.

Sizzla had not been officially signed to Def Jam, but was reportedly shopping for a deal with the big record label after big wigs at the label had expressed interest in his sensational sound.

The Island Def Jam Music Group is an umbrella company for labels such as Island Def Jam, Def Jam Recordings, The INC Records, Roadrunner Records, among others.

Last year talks had surfaced that Sizzla was on the verge of inking a deal with the giant United States-based recording label, which has under its umbrella artistes such as Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Redman, DMX, Ludacris.

But the buzz seems to have died down after the early success of his track with Rapper Foxy Brown, 'Come Fly With Me' which became a hit on the 'mix tape' circuit in the United States market.
