News: Ricky Trooper is Jamaica World Clash Champ
Former Kilmanjaro micman Ricky Trooper has copped his first ever World Clash title. The soundman claimed victory at Death Before Dishonour 6, in Jamaica over the past weekend.
Ricky Trooper walked away with the trophy at this year’s 'Death Before Dishonour 6', a world sound system clash, over the weekend in Montego Bay.
An emotional Trooper told the crowd "people, a cry me a cry y'nuh. People, a nuff fight dem fight me, people me love oonu, ah oonu gimme dis. Thanks, star," he said, holding the trophy aloft.
Meantime, David Rodigan placed second, this year's contest saw Alaska, Black Kat, last year's champs, Bass Odyssey, and Trooper. The Mighty Crown from Japan failed to enter the contest upon hearing of a 'family death'.
If you want to listen to it they currently have it posted up on BBC 1Xtra.
