News: Third Annual Soca Awards

"The Third Annual Soca Awards ceremony will be on Sunday night (October 2) at Queen’s Hall, St. Ann’s from 7.30pm. The ceremony will have a Grammy Awards feel with artists walking down a red carpet.

The red carpet gathering begins at 5pm and attendees can expect to see a host of celebrity presenters and guest appearances by major international artists.

What is being billed by the Soca Awards Organisation as a “celebrity weekend” kicks off this afternoon with a press conference at 6pm at the House of Angostura, Eastern Main Road, Laventille. A celebrity cruise will be held tomorrow night (Saturday 1 October) and will feature local and international entertainment. The weekend will climax with the all-inclusive awards ceremony on Sunday night.

The Annual Soca Awards ceremony is dedicated to recognizing individuals committed to taking Soca to higher heights throughout the world. This year’s event is being endorsed by the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Culture and Mayor of Port-of-Spain, Murchison Brown."
