On August 04, 2005 - the Antigua Sun reported that Oungku resigned from the monster-sized band Burning Flames that has been DOMINATING the Antigua soca scene for over 10 years - easily. And for this one reason I didn't tell you about it, report it, talk about it to anyone for this one reason - The article seem to be laced with uncertainty. Oungku never came out and said he's done with Burning Flames, rather - he's thinking about it. And quite frankly that tune sounds too familiar. Anyhow as the story goes...

On Sept 05, 2005 - through the Antigua Sun again - Oungku announces a new band. He said that he is not trying to re-create Burning Flames but this is his own band - an "Oungku project". And the name of the new band is....(horns) par pe-paaaar par pe par-pe-par....Red Hott Flames! Hmmmmm...

This article is plastered with uncertainty and some splotches of certainty. Here's the scoop:

Oungku is now looking to find the perfect fit of musicians for his new band 'Red Hott Flames'

* A "quick" band is being put together to perform in Miami Carnival
* The band that goes to Miami may not be the permanent band
* Red Hott Flames will be more professional than Burning Flames, with a "new image"

Oungku made it certain that he's done with Burning Flames.....BUT...here comes the big uncertain moment - that leaves everything WIDE OPEN (to me)
"I can't say there will be no Burning Flames. Red Hott Flames does not mean that there can't be a Burning Flames; but Red Hott Flames is 'Oungku'."

Can a Burning Flames exist without the originals: Onyan and Oungku?
....Can Burning Flames co-exist with Redd Hott Flames?
.....Will there be a Red Hott Flames for Miami Carnival?
.......Will Red Hott Flames just be a re-named Burning Flames?
